We run this campus!
The Woodbridge Invitational is one of the top early season meets in the U.S., and top runners receive lots of publicity. The course is fairly fast, and many athletes will PR (personal record) at this event. This event tends to be unique due to the fact that our athletes compete in the late afternoon and into the evening.
Plan to allow a little extra time to arrive at the school, since parking is off campus, and the starting line is a short distance away, on the campus. It is also busy since our runners start much later in the day, so there are already a lot of people coming and going. There is plenty of help around directing traffic, so finding parking shouldn't be too difficult. Water and snacks are provided for the runners by the boosters, and there are concession stands, so be sure to send your son or daughter with a little extra money. Commemorative t-shirts are offered for sale, usually around $10-$15. Since our runners run late in the day, buy your t-shirt as soon as you arrive, since they often sell out.
Capo Valley runners are in Division 2. Division 2 runners will wear a gold bib, and will run according to the posted schedule. Varsity girls will be running in the "Division 2 Rated Girls" race at 8:40. Medals are awarded to the top ninety finishers in each race. Trophies are awarded to the top six teams. Individual and team results are usually posted withing a couple of hours of the end of the meet on the invitational home page, and on dyestatcal.
